About Me
Hola!

Bienvenidos to my class! I’m delighted to have the opportunity to be working with you this year.  I have high expectations of you, and we will work hard to make this a positive year for you and me, so be prepared to learn MUCHO!

My name is Mrs. Nora Ramos and I am a Spanish teacher at Takoma Academy. This is my 10th year of teaching at this school. I earned my BA and teaching credentials from U.A.P, in Argentina, and in 1998 I was commissioned by the Potomac Conference to the Teaching Ministries.

Before coming to teach Spanish at Takoma Academy I taught Music (k-8) at John N. Andrews School for 17 years. Prior to that I taught in Argentina, my country of origin, at Universidad Adventista del Plata.  I absolutely LOVE what I do and still consider myself an active learner by consistently looking for ways to be a better teacher. I look forward to sharing activities and tips that have worked for me, as well as songs I enjoy using when teaching Spanish.

In my personal life, I am celebrating 40 years of wedded bliss with my college sweetheart, Ruben.  We are proud parents to three grown children (TA alumni) and very happy grandparents of 6.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy playing the piano, singing, listening to classical and gospel music, cooking, gardening and spending time with family and friends.

I also love traveling! I feel very fortunate for having the opportunity to visit many countries in South, Central, North America, the Caribbean, South and North Africa, Europe and China and have been to 45 states in our country. Some of the countries I have had the privilege to travel to were through our wonderful “TA Travel Club.”

I look forward to getting to know you as we spend this year together.

Sincerely,

Sra. Ramos
